Hi! My name is Kalen, and I recently graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BFA in Visual Communication. I’m originally from Belvidere, Illinois. Throughout my studies, I’ve developed a strong passion for working across all media—from graphic design to photography—and I enjoy blending different styles to create unique visual stories.

Editorial Design
I’ve always loved editorial design because it’s all about telling a story through images and words that grab your attention. Lately, I’ve been really into fashion editorial design since it lets me mix my love for style with creative layouts that bring a vibe to life. I also design my own clothing pieces, so combining fashion and graphic design feels natural and super exciting to me.

Branding & Identity
I’m really interested in branding and identity because I love digging deep into what makes a brand unique. Researching and learning about the company or project helps me understand their story and goals, so I can bring their ideas to life in a way that truly reflects who they are. My goal is to create designs that not only look great but also clearly convey what the brand wants to share with the world.

I enjoy print design because it gives me the chance to work with tangible materials that people can hold and interact with. Whether it’s posters, brochures, or packaging, I love playing with layouts, colors, and textures to create pieces that stand out in the real world. Print design challenges me to think about how design works beyond the screen and how it can make a lasting impression.
